Ownership is nothing but a projection of ego. We do not own anything on Earth, we are only able to use it for a time. Even in modern times, you can only own something if you make your annual payments (taxes etc). Treat this as an opportunity to deepen your spiritual and philosophical practice. No different than the Stoics who were exiled from Rome under certain Emperors. What does not break you only makes you stronger! I do hope you find your way back to your loved ones though. May you find strength in this trying time.
No matter how much truth the spiritual path speaks there's no denying just how tricky life can be. We may not be here to live easy lives but sometimes that doesn't make anything anymore appealing.
