A monk traveled to the high-mountain temple where a famous Zen teacher once lived.
Upon arriving, the student asked the teacher if he could teach him the ways of Zen.
The Master replied — "The dharma of Buddhism is not something you can attain from others."
The student said — "My mind is not at peace. I beg of you, Master, pacify it for me!"
The Master replied — "Bring me your mind and I will pacify it for you."
The student responded — "I have searched for my mind, but could not find it."
The Master replied — "There, I have pacified your mind."
